About

Built by people who think $300/month is insane.

ChowHub is made by Norel Technologies, a small independent shop based in Canada. We build software for restaurants because we got tired of watching friends pay $300/month plus a 3-year contract for a POS that, fundamentally, just rings up orders.

Why we built it

The restaurant tech market is a mess. The big POS companies are payment processors first and software companies second — which means their pricing is engineered to lock you into a specific card processor, on multi-year contracts, on proprietary hardware. The software is the bait. The processing is the trap.

We built ChowHub to flip that. The software is the product. The processor is yours. The hardware is yours. The contract is monthly.

What we believe

  • Owners should own their stack. No payment lock-in. No hardware lock-in. No multi-year contract.
  • Software pricing should be public. If a competitor's pricing requires a sales call, that's a tell.
  • Restaurants should pay restaurant prices for restaurant software. Not enterprise SaaS prices for the privilege of ringing up burgers.
  • Be honest about what we don't do. If Toast is better for your concept, we'll say so. Trust compounds.

Who it's for

Independent restaurants, cafés, bars, food trucks, and 2–5 location groups. Owner-operators who resent enterprise SaaS pricing and would rather own their stack than rent it.

Where we are

Norel Technologies is based in Canada. ChowHub is sold globally — anywhere Stripe or Square operates. We're a small team and we like it that way.
